Florida Surprise Plant,
June 3, 2007
Submitted by MMR1939

"In central florida, these plants gave me a big surprise. I used a liquid fertilizer and added Sea Magic to the mixture every 3 weeks. They grew in partial shade and were so beautiful I decided to see if I could get another years growth out of them after they got straggly. In the spring, I cut the top of the plants off to within about 6" of the ground and to my GREAT SURPRISE they renewed themselves and put out as many blooms as they did the year before. Sea Magic is a good product from Burpee. You won't go wrong using it along with your regular liquid fertilizer for all your plants."

"These really do look like little roses - they are very beautiful. This was only my second experience with impatiens and they did take quite a while to get going and look really full and beautiful, but maybe that is the way it is with all impatiens. Also, I was a little disappointed because they make you think based on the description and the picture that each plant has mixed colors, however each plant only makes one color (again, maybe my inexperience). But I got 2 red, 1 white, and all the rest pink, which looked a little funny in the flowerbed. I couldn't tell which was which when I planted them either. So just watch out for that. I think they should at least give you 4 of each color."
