Exceptionally Fragrant and Forgiving,
July 17, 2008
Submitted by ChristyACB

"In my garden I do have several rosemary purchased as plants for that initial gratification, but wanting a sort of hedge of rosemary, I bought this seed. Like all rosemary, it is a slow starter from seed and requires a little patience and care to get going.
I expected to have a low rate of success for the seedlings but was pleasantly surprised. I had excellent germination, strong seedlings and good growth. My plants are still small, being first year seedlings, but I have a full expectation of continued strong growth. They are already ready to go into the ground from pots and live on their own. Anyone who has grown Rosemary from seed can attest to that being exceptional.
I live in a hot zone 7 and this rosemary holds up very well under these scorching days. Very fragrant, right from the start, they are an attraction to anyone going past my garden. Love this seed!"

This grows great in zone 6 too!,

"I see Burpee states this is for zones 7-10. I live in Ohio, right on Lake Erie which is a Zone 6 and I actually had to pull out my Rosemary this year. It got way too big for the size of my herb garden. It grows like a shrub and if you let it go, keeps coming back bigger and bigger. It was like a bush now and I simply don't use enough to merit that much real estate in the garden. I'll grow it again but if you live in zone 6 and see Burpee says it grows in 7-10, trust me, I planted it once 3 or 4 years ago and it survived year after year, winter after winter."
