"Fantastic zinnia plant, but the description's a bit off. 2.5 feet tall? No way. Mine were almost 6 feet high, growing in 75% sun, 25% shade. Prepare to stake them with something much more rugged than the silly twigs they sell in stores as "plant stakes". A 4x4 inch post is more like it. Or, grow against a fence."

Okay..., January 11, 2009

"They were pretty easy to grow. Sometimes I wonder if I actually put to much work into growing them (ie- starting by seed in a hot box and then transfering to a well-kept plot of soil, and then irrigating them, which i removed after about 1 week.)

Here is the deal:

They need little water and lots of sun. They didn't bloom like i expected. I expected the pedals to me more full and compact and for the colors to blow me away. Honestly, they didn't.

If I could recommend anything, I'd recommend Burpee's Zinnia Big Tetra Mix. Now that is a flower to be amazed by."
