"I have planted the Biker Billy since it's release, and have found it to be one of my most prolific growers. Excellent germination rates, heavy yield, great flavor and for a Jalapeno the heat can't be beat! "

"This is one of my favorites. I have grown this for years, both from seeds and from stock. The flavor is excellent but the heat varied dramatically. The first year (grown from seeds, wet spring and summer)the green peppers were mildly spicy so I let them mature. The mature red peppers were flavorful, but sweet. Something of a surprise for an allegedly HOT pepper.

Next year, grown from stock and a drier spring and summer, those peppers lived up to their reputation. Matured a little earlier with all the flavor of last year's crop and a whole lot more heat.

This year, I'm going with live plants. I recommend it chopped in chili, minced in omlets, stir fried with pepper steak, or (my favorite) marinated with beef then skewered with onion, mushroom, and tomato. One per kabob will satisfy without overpowering if you're up for hot.

CAUTION: Do not prepare this for someone who doesn't like hot even if you're selling the flavor of the pepper (my wife, even forewarned, was not amused). "

"This will be the seventh season of planting this pepper. It has consistently been a very heavy producer with very large, very hot and very flavorful peppers. An average yeild has been 12 to 16 pounds per 6 plants. I regularly have to stake them because they are so top heavy. They grow very well in containers also and are very attractive on the deck. I usually end up planting about 20 of them and friends are amazed with the quality of them. Highly recommended."

These peppers ROCK!, October 10, 2009
Submitted by Xsquid from Weiherhammer, Germany
"Second year growing these beautiful buds of fire. First year was so-so as I only did a few plants and ran out of peppers by fall. This year I planted 17 seeds and all took, so now I have plenty of peppers for myself, my relatives, my friends, strangers on the street and have 3 one gallon ziplocks full in the freezer for emergencies this winter! I live in Germany so the only way to get these babies big and hot is to stick them in the green house and get it hot in there! (I told the wife all her the tomato plants died so I could make room for these pepper plants in the green house! Shhhhhh.) Plenty of flavor and plenty of heat. Finally got some to go 'red' on me and these had some 'sweet-heat'! Used up the last of my Biker-Billy seeds, so will try to plant my own from stock gained this year. Growth is starting to slow now so will be moving them in the house for the winter months to come. When I make salsa for the family I would normally use a 1:1 of tomato and store bought Jalapenos and the wife and kids will eat it. So far, after four batches made this summer (I make 4 qts at a time) I think the ratio is finally set for the family at 4:1 that's 4 baseball sized tomatos to 1 Biker Billy! Anything other than that, the wife and kids won't touch it, which has been fine since that's a lot of salsa just for me!! Thanks Billy and Burpee, for producing and providing a pepper that ROCKS!"
