Troublesome to start...good flavor, July 17, 2008
Submitted by ChristyACB from Norfolk, Virginia
"I got this hybrid because of the quick harvest time promised on the packet of 50 days. I planted half of my regular cultivar and half of the First White and the difference between the two was marked.

This seed started well but the seedlings are quite weak and fragile for a considerable length of time compared to my other cauliflower. The time to harvest was also not at all 50 days. The first one wasn't ready until 73 days after transplant and the others are still limping along in a protected area of my garden where temperatures are lower than ambient.

The cauliflower head itself is quite large and nicely formed. The flavor wasn't remarkable but not bad either. One very positive note is that the head gives you a day or two of leeway in harvest time rather than bolting immediately as so many others do.

I'll be trying this hybrid again for the fall harvest and see if it is more amenable to that season and update my review then."
