Portable composting by the back door!,
December 12, 2007 Submitted bypookie from Historic Valley Forge, PA
"I just recieved my composter last month and put it together in the kitchen. It was very easy to put together and I was able to plop it right outside the back door. Since it is getting cold so quickly now, I was afraid I might get lots of mice trying to get to the scraps I put in, but so far so good. I keep it near the back door, to make it easier to dump my scraps from the kitchen. I also keep a pile of leaves that I gathered with the lawn mower in a sealed trash can right next to the composter. That way, when I toss in some banana peels and green peppers stems, or whatever we have left over from the veggies we cooked last night, I can grab a handful of leaves to toss right on top. The bottom opening in the composter also makes it easy to mix everything up. Having a can with some garden soil also helps provide the microorganisms you need to break down your compost. I can't wait until planting time next spring and all that black gold I can add to my plants."

good composter,
March 4, 2006 Submitted byCT gardener from CT
"I own two of these, and I really like them. I initially thought they would be hard to put together because there are many pieces in the box, but it goes together really simply without tools. It's large, but unobtrusive. It seems to work faster than an open compost pile, but it works best if you remember to turn and mix the compost every week. This is a good composter, but I found I really needed two...one to add things to while the other one 'cooks'."
