"Old fashioned flowers just like morning glories but they open in the evening. Fragrant 6"" flowers mix well when grown with the morning bloomers for added interest. Grow as an annual but perennial in mild areas. Height 15'. Easy to grow. Grows best in full sun.
Sorry, cannot ship to AZ."

Not one seed sprouted,

"I was very disappointed when I planted these seeds. Out of 3 packets of seeds, nothing sprouted or even germinated. Very disappointing."

Huge Beautiful Flowers,
April 7, 2008 Submitted byMxstressica from Ellicott City, MD
"The flowers begin to bloom at dusk and positively GLOW at night they are so pure white.
Once they really got started in the Summertime, we had flowers as big as dessert plates and several came out at a time each evening.
The leaves are larger and deep green and the flowers are much larger than a morning glory. The leaves and flowers are too large to fully enjoy on a small trellis - the vine looks best trained along a big fence or a large metal gate / garden structure.
It is also nice when it can be planted with other plants in front of it... it gets a little sparse at the bottom because it sends out the majority of the vines toward the top of the plant."

beautiful flowers and seed heads,
February 10, 2008 Submitted byGardenwithdogs from NJ
"I grow these vines on an arbor in zone 6/7 border with honeysuckle and fall-blooming clematis. Compared to standard morning glories, they have stronger, longer vines with darker thick leaves. The moon vines have huge white flowers that open in the evening. If you like to sit outside at night, these are the best flowers. B/c the seed heads are so pretty, I leave the vines up over the winter (haven't re-seeded), and use them with fir cuttings and boxwoods in Christmas wreaths. They are slow to get started, but this is one of my favorite flowers/vines."

"I have been growing Burpee's Moonflowers for 10 years, and each year, they amaze me like it was the first time seeing and smelling them. Since I grown them on the deck, I just love to sit next to them, and just relax in the summer. The smell is intoxicating. Even my mother is impressed."

"Oh what a GEM this plant is! This wonderful night bloomer has a lovely scent and is so welcomed around our pool, also the large blooms are easy to dispose of. As an added bonus the grandchildren enjoy the "peanut butter" scent the leaves give off when crushed. In our zone 7 moonflowers reseed themselves year after year."

"I planted these along with my morning glories and was a little disappointed in the beginning that they didn't germinate. It's tough to distinguish between the two vines when you mix. HOWEVER, all of a sudden, these enormous white blooms began to appear later in the season than the morning glories. Maybe next season I'll plant them separately to be able to watch more closely. They are so pretty, though, and smell yummy!"

"I planted my first Moonflower from a pkg that was almost 2 years old. I was not expecting much. To my surprise I have my first bloom! They are actually more beautiful in person! I live in Zone 7 and hope that it will come back next year....if not I will definately be replanting!"

Moonflower Seeds,
September 5, 2006 Submitted bySwngthng from Kenosha
"The moonflower seeds are easy to gather at the end of the season when the flower is starting to go die off. You will notice large "pods" on the plant and inside each one of these pods will contain the seeds for next season. Let the pods dry out and then open up to retrieve your pea size seed. I suggest not growing this plant around small children as the pods are very toxic if eaten or "smoked", and can be fatal."
