Color selection limited,
August 30, 2009
Submitted by MW04
from illinois
"I grew these from seed and are blooming the first year. I am disappointed as the 30 plants are magenta with only one pink. The color selection is extremely limited and did not produce any yellows or whites as I had hoped."

Outstanding Single Hollyhocks,
July 10, 2009
Submitted by BeetsAreTheNewSpinach
from Valley Forge, PA
"I had to have single hollyhocks and ordered 6 plants in January. I've been getting very high quality perennial plants from Burpee and have shifted more of my orders thier way. The quality per price is very good. Planted 6 country romance plants in mid April. They were in bloom by early June and put on quite a show, which I did not expect from a first year biennial plant. They have been a delight to behold with the bloom period lasting over a month. I recommend planting in groups of 6 or more for a full garden effect. Mine were mostly a pretty pink with a few maroons. Standing around 5 1/2 foot tall, they did not require staking, despite lots of rain and some high winds."

Beautiful Hollyhock Blooms in PA,
June 27, 2008
Submitted by Charity
from Central PA
"I live in Central PA, and I planted this Hollyhock mix last year. The plants have performed beautifully in full sun and in dry clay soil! Of the 4 Hollyhocks I have planted, there is one each of magenta, yellow and pink. The fourth is about to bloom so I am hoping it is white! :-)"

Hollyhock Country Romance,
July 24, 2007
Submitted by Mele
"Most grew very quickly and all but one have bloomed already. And it's only the first season! However I was dissapointed in the color mix. There were no whites or yellows in the mix. Only the dark magenta and light pink were in the mix. Most have grown upright, with few needing to be staked. Very beautiful if it were not for the lack of color variety; I would give these hollyhocks a five."
