Wonderful taste!, September 28, 2009

"I've loved Ambrosia for a long time. All the great reviews are earned. The flesh is melting and very sweet as well as aromatic. It is normally a prolific plant, but this year the vines were late setting fruit and died before the few melons could get ripe. I only got 5 melons out of 5 plants, which is way lower than normal. Hence the 4 star rating. I will plant Ambrosia again next year and hope that this year was just a fluke. We did have a bad growing season. Ambrosia is well worth growing!"

Excellent taste and producer, September 2, 2009

"This melon has been producing melons all summer. I still have two large melons on a group of plants and another patch is producing five new melons. It is now September in Atlanta. The taste is excellent. I pick the melons right after they turn beige/brown. Normally, the stem will just fall off. The melons are ripe and need to be eaten shortly thereafter. My biggest melon was 8 pounds with the average between 6 to 8 pounds."

"These cantaloupes are definitely overall winners. Although I didn't get a surplus of fruits, the ones i did get were sweet, tender, and delicious. To me, ambrosia hybrid melons are what defines summer itself. They are quite small, but their lack of weight is made up for with their sweet, succulent taste. These are the best tasting small melons i have ever tried and will ever try. I had the vines grow up a fence, and it worked perfectly because the ripening melons only got to about three pounds. The ambrosia hybrid is the best cantaloupe, despite small size. My entire family loved them! Thank you burpee for providing such a tasteful melon."

Family Loves these Melons!, June 14, 2009

"I put a couple of these melons in my earthbox with some summper squash and Wow are they ever producing. We had our first melon this morning and it was gone. On 2 other plants I have 10 more melons in varying stages of ripening. I can smell the cantalope in the kitchen even before it is cut. So juicy and sweet, we threw the storebought melons in the trash. Would definitely recommend!"
