No flavor!, January 13, 2009

"Yes, it was easy to grow and had tons of fruit. That said, I let most of it rot in my garden. They were mealy textured with almost no tomato flavor. The sauce I made with it had a really unattractive color. I will never grow these again. The attractive color of the fruit is simply not enough."

"I like unusually colored vegetables, so I had to grow this one. Very vigorous and prolific - I am picking 2 quarts a day from just 3 plants! Only drawback is that for a paste tomato, it seems to have too high a liquid content, and takes a long time to make a yellow sauce. Flavor is excellent, with a hint of sweetness."

Beautiful and Productive, July 31, 2008

"Golden Mama is not a tall plant by any means and this could be a plus for a gardener with limited space. That being said - "this plant is very productive". The tomatoes are of a small to medium size and a beautiful golden yellow. The taste is sweet and flavorful unlike some yellow tomatoes I've eaten in the past.
The only con I can come up with is that because of it's size and the amount of fruit on the plant it can be difficult to keep off the ground. Staking should be done carefully and often.
I highly recommend this plant to everyone who would like to impress their friends with an off color salsa or sauce."

"This plant is very productive and at the same time very compact. It is great for container gardening, although mine are in the ground.

The tomatoes are relatively smallish compared to some of the other new paste tomatoes, but the shear quantity produced on this plants makes up for it.

The one problem I seem to have is the tomatoes are not attached very strongly to the stems. They seem to easily fall off. When picking several of them, it is not to hard to knock a few green ones off."
