Beautful addition to the garden,
May 19, 2009
Submitted by dakster
from Mid-Connecticut
"The colors really make a statement with all the red and pink salvias I use for my hummers. Grows as an annual here, which stinks, but it is worth the price paid. Massive flowers for a salvia and unlike "Lady In Red" which is easy as pie to harvest seeds from, this one is quite elusive, so it is just easier to buy the plants already grown for you."

Must have for hummingbirds,
June 3, 2008
Submitted by Golf
from Michigan
"I bought and started growing this 2 years ago. Unlike a lot of plants labeled "attracts hummingbirds", this really does! Of all the different plants in my hummingbird garden last year, this was the only plant I saw a hummingbird check out. So much for the myth that hummingbirds are only attracted to red flowers! Has beautiful flowers and beautiful rich green foliage. With regular watering you'll have a small bush by fall. Very easy to grow! Seems to prefer morning sun and late-afternoon/evening shade. The only downsides are it's an annual and where I live, the brick and mortar nurseries that carry it are very limited (as in ONE, but only IF they get it in!)"

Best for Hummers,
March 14, 2008
Submitted by Colmel

"I garden for wildlife - especially hummingbirds and butterflies. This salvia is, hands down, the absolute favorite of every hummingbird we've ever had - even exotics. Buy it! You won't be disappointed."
